Paolo Nello recieved his undergraduate degree from the university of Pisa in 1975. Subsequesntly he obtained his PhD in history at the European University Institute. He has been teaching for California State University International Program in Florence since 1982. He was a tenured research fellow at the U. Pisa, in political science, from 1984-2001. Prof. Nello was appointed head of the political and social studies department at the University of Pisa in 2009, a position he holds up to the present. Paolo is a fan of the Pisa soccer team. He also enjoys singing and baseball
